Taking omega 3 fatty acids is also very important for these women over 40. Fish oil or flaxseed oil supplements have very beneficial effects on the heart, tissues, bones, hair and scalp. They've also been proven to help combat depression that many of these women over 40 have both during and after pregnancy.
Being over 40 also means their bodies don't assimilate some nutrients as well as they once did. That's why it's essential to supplement. It's not enough to rely on dietary sources alone for adequate nutritional intake.
