Fender covers are available from after market vendors and require simple tools to install them. All you need to is a power drill with a ¼ inch drill bit; a ratchet wrench with sockets and a screwdriver.
Preparation for Fender Covers Installation
Inspect the fender covers and find the position letters DF, DR, PF, and PR. These markings indicate the position for each fender cover. DF is driver front, DR is driver rear, PF is passenger front and PR is passenger rear. Place each fender cover near their position on the ground by the vehicle.
The covers have a paper template which indicates the position of the ¼-inch drill holes. Use this template to mark, then drill 1/4-inch holes at the proper location on each fender.
Installation of Fender Covers
Place each fender cover into position on fender then use the screwdriver to hand twist screws from the fender kit into the body of the vehicle and into the fender cover. Use the proper size socket and ratchet wrench to tighten screws into place. Repeat the previous steps on all fixings to install the covers into place.
Caution
When ordering covers, be sure to purchase covers for the specific type and year model of vehicle. Covers may be made of vinyl, stainless steel or a combination of materials. They may also be custom colored to match or contrast with vehicle color. Before drill holes are made in fenders, temporarily hold cover(s) into place to ensure a proper fit. Remember to match each cover with its proper position marked on it with its position on vehicle.
Added Value
Properly installed covers will add value to a vehicle if properly installed. The dings and scrapes from road debris averted by the installed covers will enhance the look and appeal of the vehicle for years to come.
