The last thing that girls want to do at a sleepover party is actually sleep, so you should prepare plenty of fun activities as well as having comfortable surroundings and plenty of snacks at the ready.
Girls' sleepover parties are usually fun, loud and colorful. Depending on the ages of the girls, there will be a variety of different activities they will want to do. Some younger girls will want to play with make up and glitter, while teenage girls might want to watch DVD's and talk about boys, so be ready to try out different ideas.
Make lots of food for the sleepover party
- There are all sorts of ideas you can have for food at a sleepover party. Small, personal pizzas for dinner are often a good idea because each girl can have their own and they are also quite filling. This will give them a decent meal before they gorge on all the snacks they will want. You can get the girls to work together to create cupcakes, a cake or any other kind of tasty treats. This will keep them busy for a while and it's also a fun activity for them to enjoy together. For the next morning, you can give them cereal or make a stack of pancakes to enjoy that can be topped off with syrups.
Decorations and activities for the sleepover party
- Create a space for the girls to sleep in. This can be done by laying out sleeping bags or pumping up air mattresses. If the girls are going to watch a lot of television, then place the sleeping area beside it. It is best to create a nice, soft atmosphere for the girls so use lots of lamps and dim lighting for them. Bright lights are probably a bad idea because they are likely to stay up late and the lights will eventually begin to agitate them. Depending on what the girls like to do, there is no shortage of fun activities for them. They can sit up and watch a couple of DVDs, which is more likely to end up as the background to chat anyway. You could also provide the girls with plenty of makeover kits and allow them to try out new hairstyles, make-up and glitter for a glamorous sleepover party.
