Buying children's furniture can often seem like an arduous task but with a little research and some hunting about, it's not difficult to find the best kids table and chairs to suit your child's needs.
With so much choice out there, choosing new furniture is a challenge at the best of times, but choosing furniture for kids can seem even more problematic when taking into consideration such factors as space, storage, practicality and safety. There is a huge selection of kids tables and chairs on the market and at first the choice can seem a bit daunting, but with some careful thought and a bit of scouting, you will be sure to find the ideal kids table and chairs for you.
Think Practical
- How old is your child and what will the table be used for? You don't want your child struggling to reach a table that is too high, and you won't do your child's spine any favours if they are sat hunched over a table that is too small. Making sure the table is the right height is important, although you do want to make sure that they are not going to outgrow the table in a few months. So compromise. Opt for kids table and chairs that are going to last a while.
Think Purposeful
- What is the table going to be used for? If it's going to be used for writing on and doing homework, for example, then you don't want a table with a rutted or furrowed table top, like some play tables. Equally, if the table is going to be used largely to paint on, or do arts and crafts, then you don't want a table with a veneered finish that will get ruined. Pine absorbs ink and stains easily, so is not the best material for kids table and chairs.
Think Storage
- Whilst wooden furniture is going to be sturdier, there are some plastic tables and chairs that are designed for easy storage. If space is tight, choose tables that are collapsible and chairs that are stackable to make best use of room.
