A student loan, or university loan as they are sometimes known, are available to full-time students to help cover the costs of tuition fees and study costs during their education.

A maintenance grant is available in some instances, to help the student with living costs, however, they must be studying full-time. In order for a student to be considered for the maintenance grant, their annual household income (which includes their parents income if living at home) must be £50,020 or under.

 

  • To apply for loans and grants, applicant's need to register for a student finance account on the government website. The account details are then used to login and complete the online application. Applicants will also need to send evidence of their identity and household income. The final stage of the process is to sign and return a declaration.
